Policy SS1 replaces Policy ST3 of the South Somerset Local Plan and in respect of Yeovil carries forward the Development Area (land shown in yellow) on the Inset Map 15. The Development Area purports to represent an area of established built form for the town yet it will be noted that the area was first defined in the Draft Yeovil Area Local Plan of 1988 some 24 years ago and the current Local Plan reflects little or no change in its delineation failing to reflect the numerous changes to the built form of the rural/urban fringe. The Development Area should be reviewed and include areas which are now developed. Such an area is the Seatons Garage site to the south west of the town which has been the subject of incremental growth over the years and is now an established part of the town. In its current historical form the Inset Plan 15 has little justification.

What changes do you suggest to make the DPD legally compliant or sound? That Inset Plan 15 be amended to accurately reflect the current day built form of the town and in particular include the Seatons garage site. (see attached)
