A more supportive employment policy is required otherwise these important centres will decline further, from an economic viewpoint and will become less sustainable as they lose existing services and retail opportunities and the limited employment opportunities. Policies SS1 and SS3 are not effective as they need to be strengthened to deliver the stated objectives

Following representations made by Origin3 Ltd on behalf of Mead Realisations Ltd in October 2010 and March 2012 I am writing to object to the recommended changes to the Core Strategy as proposed by the South Somerset Local Plan Submission Draft. I would be grateful if you will consider the representations below as part of the of the Core Strategy's consultation programme. Policy SS I Settlement Hierarchy: Templecombe The settlement definition fails to recognise Templecombe as a Rural Centre. T

I have been a resident of Forton for 67yrs. Forton is a vibrant community, close to Chard with many facilities. Although we are a combined Parish Couuncil ie( Tatworth and Forton), Tatworth has a Developement Boundary but Forton does not. Many of us feel very strongly that Forton should be included in this Parish Boundary/Plan. We feel that this conflicts with the Sustainability Appraisal because Forton is a sustainable settlement, near to Chard and needs housing.
