The South Somerset Local Plan (2006-2028) is currently the subject of Independent Examination by the Planning Inspectorate. The first round of Examination Hearing Sessions held between May and June 2013 resulted in the first Inspector’s Preliminary Findings Letter (July 2013). This identified three issues of concern in relation to the soundness of the plan, and three points for clarification.

The Council carried out further work and submitted the first round of Main Modifications to the Planning Inspectorate in March 2014. These were considered during a second round of Examination Hearing Sessions held in June 2014. The outcome of these resumed Examination Hearing Sessions was another Inspector's Preliminary Findings Letter (July 2014) suggesting four further Main Modifications.

This consultation relates only to these four further Main Modifications. Consultation will run for six weeks ending at 4.45pm on 10 October 2014.
